HVAC Tools

Heating Ventilation And Air-Conditioning (HVAC) Is Nothing But A Climate Control System.

You come home to enjoy the warmth of the home. So, to make the home comfortable, we require maintaining a comfortable environment inside the home. This is achieved by heating the rooms in winter and air-conditioning the rooms in summer. For this job there is a profession known as HVAC. This is also sometimes called as climate control as it actually controls the climate inside the rooms and makes the rooms comfortable to stay. From the acronym itself it can be well understood that this service is the combination of heating ventilation and air-conditioning. Hence they are very closely interlaced in this service. The HVAC is a huge industry. The career opportunities are maintenance, operators, system manufacture and their sales, system designing and even research in this field.

As for any industry this also requires many specialized tools for working. Some common most used tools are

  • Carbon monoxide and combustible gas leak detector:
This tool is used to detect any leak in the duct. Particularly carbon monoxide is very harmful for human being. So care is to be taken so that this poisonous gas does not mix with the air which is being sent to the rooms by the systems. Similarly any combustible gas may also leak from the furnace or adjacent pipe line to the duct. So to avoid this tool is used to detect the leak.
  • Temperature and humidity detector:
The ducts are made to bear certain temperature. This temperature should not exceed. Moreover the room temperature must also not rise above the comfort limit. Similarly the humidity also must not exceed the comfort level. So to maintain the temperature and humidity level, we require analyzing these parameters regularly. This job is done by this tool.
  • Digital clamp meters.
  • Anemometers:
Anemometers are used to measure the rate of air flow in the duct of the HVAC system.
  • HVAC multi-meters used to measure the exact voltage available in the system.
  • Manometers:
Manometers are used to measure the pressure in the ducts. As the ducts are rated for a certain amount of pressure this becomes a very important tool in protecting the duct from over pressurization due to some mal function in the system.
  • Refrigerant recovery tool:
After frequent use of the refrigerant in the condenser the refrigerant quality of the material decreases. So this tool is used to regenerate the refrigerant.
  • Temperature thermometer:
It is used to take the temperature of the duct so that the temperature of the duct does not exceed to its specified limit.

These tools help the system technicians to maintain the HVAC system so that it works efficiently.
