HVAC Design
HVAC Stands For Heating Ventilation And Air-Conditioning.
This is also sometimes called as climate control as it actually controls the climate inside the rooms and makes the rooms comfortable to stay. Human being gives a lot importance for their home. Everybody requires comfort at home. So, to make the home comfortable, we require maintaining a comfortable environment inside the home. This is achieved by heating the rooms in winter and air-conditioning the rooms in summer. This may be required for a single room or for a building. In any case the HVAC designers are required to design the system as per the requirements and standards. For small buildings the HVAC systems may be bought separately but for the big buildings the HVAC system comes in the building plan itself carefully crafted by engineers specializing in this field. With the advent of energy efficient systems more and more research work is going on for the HVAC system. The modern HVAC systems are becoming more energy efficient. The HVAC designers has come together to design more energy efficient systems.
Designing a HVAC system according to the requirement of the building is the job of HVAC designer. The design of the HVAC system depends upon the individual requirements for small buildings. But for large building like residential flats and commercial complexes it is restricted by the law that an efficient HVAC system is to be incorporated. Efficiency means that the system should use less power and work more efficiently with very less breakdown times. The designing of the HVAC system includes designing the most energy efficient heating system and a very good ventilation system be it natural ventilation or forced ventilation. The ventilation part of the HVAC system is very important as the cold and stale air is to be driven out to give a clean environment indoors. During ventilation the air is to be filtered for its bacterial contents so that bacterial contamination does not take place between the rooms. To circulate this hot air and ventilate the cold air proper duct material is to be used which also comes in designing phase of a HVAC system. The air-conditioning system on the other hand is a total solution of heating, ventilation and dehumidifier built into one system. So proper designing of air-conditioning system is more difficult. While designing you also have to remember the maintenance aspect of the system. The system down time should be a bare minimum for maintenance.
For designing of HVAC systems many types of software are also available. These softwares are like CAD. These soft wares not only helps in designing a efficient system but here you can also simulate the condition of the building and see your designed system working and find the faults which you can rectify.
